Why the Market Keeps Moving

Bandai's international rollout has consistently underestimated demand. Multiple sets have sold out at MSRP within hours of release, pushing collectors to secondary markets at significant premiums. The One Piece anime's ongoing global popularity—and Luffy's story arc conclusions drawing new viewers—have kept IP visibility at record levels, which directly translates to collector demand for associated cards.

OP-01 Cards Recovering and Climbing

Romance Dawn cards saw a post-release market cooldown but are now on a sustained upward trajectory. The English 1st Edition print run was genuinely small relative to current demand. Collectors who passed on OP-01 at launch are now entering the secondary market, pushing prices on Luffy, Zoro, and Shanks character cards steadily higher.
